Gibralfaro Castle Interpretation Centre
Located inside the old powder magazine of the castle dating from the eighteenth century. A collection that reflects the life of Gibralfaro Castle as a military garrison and coastal watchtower since 1487.
At the gates of the powder magazine we can see a large model of the city with the defensive walls it had in the sixteenth century, centered on Mount Gibralfaro, from where you can see the Castle and the Alcazaba of Malaga.
Through this model we can get an idea of the route through the walls.
The exhibition at the Gibralfaro Castle Interpretation Centre reflects the history of the castle through its inhabitants. This space has large showcases divided by centuries where you can see uniforms, weapons, objects from everyday life and some mannequins dressed in period costumes.
From the 18th century onwards you can see the maps of the evolution of the city with the land that is being reclaimed from the sea.
Scale models of ships, weapons and lead soldiers complete this great collection of the Gibralfaro Castle and its Interpretation Centre.
